Dr. Shiva Shankar Jha is an eminent orthopaedic surgeon, educator, and institutional leader with over 30 years of distinguished service in clinical care, academic medicine, and orthopaedic society leadership.

He currently serves as Director of the Harishchandra Orthopaedic Research Institute, Patna, and as President of the Indian Emergency & Sports Rehabilitation Forum (IESRF). As Patron and Founder President of the Indian Orthopaedic Rheumatology Association, Dr. Jha has been instrumental in building orthopaedic rheumatology as a recognized subspecialty in India.

Dr. Jha's broad leadership includes international roles — he is Vice Secretary General of the Asia-Pacific Society for Foot & Ankle Surgery and has served as Past President of the Indian Foot and Ankle Society. He has extensive editorial and academic responsibilities, including Editor-in-Chief of COVID-19 Journal and chairing national academic programmes such as the National P.G. Quiz Programme of the Indian Orthopaedic Association (2003–2006).

In clinical practice, Dr. Jha is the Chief Consultant at Bharat Vikas Sanjay Anand Hospital for the Handicapped, Patna, where he applies his clinical expertise to rehabilitation and outreach for vulnerable populations. Throughout his career he has combined clinical excellence with a deep commitment to education, mentorship and community service.

As an Advisory Council member of GROSF, Dr. Jha provides strategic guidance on clinical education, mentorship programs, and multi-centre research collaborations in regenerative orthopaedics. His experience in building academic networks and training pathways supports GROSF's mission to scale evidence-based regenerative care across India and the Asia-Pacific region.
